Sail Southern Georgian Bay (4 - 5 Days)

Day 1

The Ports Cruising Guide Georgian Bay edition is an invaluable resource while traveling by boat in the Georgian Bay region and can be purchased online or at Georgian Bay marinas.

Set out from Midland or Penetanguishene today. Both communities offer several marinas for docking the night before your travels. Make your way to Beausoleil Island today, home of the Georgian Bay Islands National Park. This park is accessible by water only, and offers camping, hiking, swimming and park interpretation for overnighters as well as daytrippers. Pick up a visitor's guide at any of the docks within the park for all the information. Beausoleil Island features several docks to choose from for the night. Tie up and spend the rest of the day exploring.

Day 2

Today set sail for Massassauga Provincial Park. Another backcountry park popular with boaters, kayakers and campers, Massassauga offers many overnight bays, and shore access through use of mooring pins, buoys and gathering areas. There are many excellent locations to choose from. The park map (available from the park office at 705-378-0685) along with the nautical charts and the Ports Cruising Guide can help to guide your exploration. Once you’re settled, spend some time hiking in the park and taking in some of the interpretation offered. Please note – usage fees apply depending on your overnight plans and shore access.
