Featuring both ancient geological wonders and a vital cultural legacy, Fathom Five National Marine Park reaches out from Ontario’s Bruce Peninsula to protect a lush archipelago and a surrounding freshwater ecosystem. Start your journey at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre in Tobermory to plan your trip. Explore the lookout tower, exhibits and take in an interpretation program before setting out on your adventure. Come and explore Flower Pot Island, the most accessible island within the park, featuring some of the oldest trees on earth! The best way to get to Flowerpot Island is by Tour Boat. A few companies runs several tours to the island daily and you can take a 2 hour break from the boat to hike around the island, checking out the cool Flowerpot rock formations, trails, caves, and amazing views. Six campsites are also available if you’d like to spend the night on the island, reservations are a must as space is limited. Discover also a world renowned scuba diving destination while snorkeling or scuba diving to explore 24 shipwrecks and submerged natural wonders in the heart of the Great Lakes. This park is very busy all summer, especially on long weekends. Don’t forget to book your Flowerpot Island tour boat, dive charters and accommodations in advance to avoid any disappointment and make the Parks Canada Visitor Centre your first stop!
